Felipe Massa

E vamos pra 2009.

It's the first time I saw a Brazilian really fighting for the F1 championship, mainly because I was too young in the Senna years.

The final score of 98 x 97 after Interlagos is a good measure of the title contender's season. Both had their shiny moments, their not-so-shiny moments and their mistakes. Hamilton showed the way at Hockenheim and Shanghai. Massa did it at Hungaroring, Valencia and Interlagos.

Felipe is 2008's runner-up, but it's our most valuable 2nd place in years. He wasn't champion by little things, as it was already thought how the championship would be decided - in little things. He showed us he deserves to be champion in the future and brought back to Brazil the good feeling of deeply supporting a countryman in his will to win the world.

In the name of the whole country, thank you Felipe Massa. And let 2009 come.

yes, i was very upset (literally) when he lost it on the last corner. to have lost it on the last corner after you have already finished with your team cheering was devastating

his emotions on the podium were fantstic, this is what F1 is about! he will certainly be one fantastic driver next year, and hopefully he wins it!
