A nova pista de Donington Park tem sido anunciada como a morte de um belo e histórico circuito, mas o novo layout apresentado pelo escritório do arquiteto Hermann Tilke pode anunciar o contrário.Digo isso, pois as mudanças não me parecem tão acentuadas, e o principal do circuito, que é a assombrosa seqüência de curvas desde a Redgate até a Mcleans (ver mapa do circuito original) foi preservado. O próprio arquiteto relutou em mudanças no trecho por temer pelos torcedores mais fanáticos.
As principais mudanças incluem:
•A mudança da linha de chegada de sua posição original para outra na reta após a Curva Mcleans;
•Substituição da rápida chicane Goddards por uma nova curva a quase 90º à esquerda;
•Acréscimo na extensão do circuito para os padrões da atual F1, incluindo um curvão à esquerda na parte interna do circuito, concluindo num hairpin em direção à antiga linha de partida/chegada;
•A Curva Mcleans estreitada para forçar freadas e, portanto, ultrapassagens. (O Tilke jura que isso vai acontecer, mas não acerta sempre);
•Novos equipamentos, arquibancadas, centro-médicos, banheiros, prédios e etc...
A pista no GP4 tem 4.680m. Espero que seja coerente.
Donington Park new layout has been announced as the death of a beautiful historical venue, but prospects presented from Hermann Tilke´s office may reveal the opposite.I´m not sure If circut has been killed or something alike. Main of the circuit, its astonishing curves sequence since Redgate to Mcleans (see original circuit map) was maintained. The architect himself remarked “If I touch anything from Redgate to MacLeans I’ll be lynched.”
The key changes include:
•Moving the start/finish line from its current location to a new position on the straight after MacLeans corner.
•Replacing the left/right chicane (on the former Grand Prix circuit) with a slight left kink.
•Extending the circuit by adding an inner loop including a long left-hander that leads into a new left-handed hairpin, followed by a right-hander that brings the cars onto the former start/finish straight.
•From the diagram it appears that MacLeans corner is to be tightened.
•New club house, suites, medical and media centre, toilets, pit and paddock buildings and grandstands
Track on GP4 will be 4.680m long. Hope it´s accurate.
Hopefully many of Davide´s job (such as elevations, which are really accurate), and Paulo´s current layout may be used for final version.
